Christine X Art Gallery, Sliema, Malta
The pandemic has had artists shifting attention and understanding of the world around us. The selection of artworks for this exhibition shows this untimely influence of humans on climate and the environment, questioning how humanity plays part in the ecological downfall which finds society guilty of robbing from future generations for their short-term economic gain.
Artists featuring in this exhibition, ANTHROPO SANS FUTURE, held at @christinexcurated at christine x art gallery malta from 22nd April- 13 May 2022 are Chris De Souza Jensen, darren tanti, kevin attard, mario abela and rupert cefai

Rupert’s art gives us the possibility of seeing everyday things through a new perspective. In the paintings, we can all identify with the landscapes. There is a sense of familiarity with them, whether these are churches, fortifications, or other places in Malta and elsewhere. But in Rupert’s paintings the landscapes are seen through the shades, the merged colours, the lines and the box-like images, giving us a different feeling, a different sensory input to that to which we are accustomed. It thus takes us a step further into a new sensory experience. If you engage with this new experience, it will take you beyond where you are now. - Duncan Mercieca
