This triptych by Rupert Cefai was inspired by writings of Ġużè Ellul Mercer and commissioned to mark the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Partit Laburista. Each of the three panels is dedicated to one of the themes mentioned in the quotation, namely education, work and life. Each panel has 33 objects or materials used in their respective fields. With these 99 objects, between the first and second panel, is another object on which parts of the quotation are written.
These 100 objects, created by humans and used by humans bear stories of education, work, joy, suffering and more. Stories that link those who created them to those that used them but remain for the most part unknown and anonymous. This work is dedicated to all those that are one way or another affected by the world of politics, yet their life is never in the public eye.
